Windows 10 21H1 Update Released For Enterprise For Testing

Reportedly, the Windows 10 21H1 update is released and available for enterprise edition users for testing, through Windows Insider Business Program.

Actually, the tech giant Microsoft started to roll out a preview of Windows 10 21H1 update to Windows Insider in Beta channel last month. The first 21H1 update preview Windows 10 build 20150 was available for Insiders on Dev channel back in June 2020.

The users enrolled in the Insider program for enterprise edition windows, can now avail Windows 10 version 21H1 through all channels now, including Windows Update feature, Windows Server Update services, and so on.

According to reports, the Windows 10 21H1 is released in form of enablement package to users currently to those who are running Windows 10 version 2004, or 20H2. With the help of new update, users can turn on features lying dormant in the previous versions for speedy update process which requires a minimal install and less bandwidth.

A Microsoft official said, “Customers running either Windows 10, version 2004 or version 20H2 who choose to update to the new release will have a fast installation experience because the update will install like a monthly update.”

Since the Windows 10 21H1 share the same codebase as Windows 10 20H2, the new cumulative updates will also apply to 21H1 computers.

As per a current report, the Microsoft announced, “If you are managing updates with WSUS, you have the option of taking a full feature update to 21H1 or testing out the enablement package path if your devices are currently running 2004 or 20H.”

Also, the company stated, “As with any other validation done on pre-release updates published to WSUS, you will need to first ensure that you have synced the ‘Windows Insider Preview’ category.”

The Windows 10 21H1 update with come with no hardware requirement changes in compare to last year’s 20H2. This means that the drivers which are compatible with Windows 10 2004 versions will automatically be signed for 21H1 with same signature properties.

Further, the company said that the Windows 21H1 update release is targeting the first half of 2021, for all computers running with all versions receiving 18 month’s service.
